BIR expresses concern over Brexit impact on trade
The Bureau of International Recycling expresses concern with regards to the UK leaving the European Union.
“The decision of the people of the United Kingdom to leave the EU will undoubtedly have a deep impact on trade in the European Union and internationally”, says Ranjit Baxi, BIR President, “ and the economic and political consequences of this vote cannot be fully assessed at this moment in time.” Mr Baxi adds: “We need to continue working together to promote free and fair trade globally while strengthening our diversity and reducing legislative and bureaucratic burdens on businesses”.
The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) is the only global recycling industry association and promotes materials recycling and facilitates free and fair trade of recyclables in a sustainable and competitive world economy.
