BIR honours Mr Ma Hongchang
During the opening ceremony of the 12th Secondary Metals International Forum in Beijing on 7 November 2012, BIR Director General Francis Veys presented Mr Ma Hongchang, CMRA Vice-Secretary General, with a Certificate of Merit of the world recycling organisation.
In recognition of Mr Ma’s support and commitment to BIR and the recycling industry at large, the certificate was granted on behalf of the BIR Advisory Council and signed by BIR President Björn Grufman.
During his brief address, Mr Veys praised Mr Ma’s long experience in the recycling sector and his many appearances on the international stage, in forums such as the United Nations Environment Progamme as part of the Chinese Environmental Agency’s delegation. “Thanks to your expertise and good contacts with CIQ, CCIC, AQSIQ and the Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection, you have been of great assistance to BIR and its entire membership”, said Mr Veys to Mr Ma when presenting him with the certificate.
The 12th Secondary Metals International Forum is organised by the China Non-Ferrous Metals Association (CMRA), a BIR Member since 2006, and also hosts the first international recycling metal exhibition and fair.
