Company Fraud/Cloning

The BIR secretariat has been informed by one of its member companies that their company identity has been fraudulently used by a third party in an attempt to defraud potential buyers and sellers.

The British High Commission in India informed our member, a UK-based company, that several Indian Companies had been contacted by a man claiming to represent his company. All the details of the company given by the fraudster are correct apart from the phone number which is a mobile – his only means of contact!!!
