Europe’s DG Trade updates laws on waste exports to non-OECD countries

DG Trade has engaged Milieu Consulting SPRL, a law and policy consultant, to contact governments around the world in order to update the information contained in the Annex to the EU Regulation that prohibits or otherwise controls waste exports for recycling and recovery.

The EU’s law being updated is “Commission Regulation (EC) 1418/2007”, which lists in its Annex the restrictions communicated by non-EU and non-OECD governments.

BIR will endeavour to ensure the new rules for waste exports are in line with importing country secondary raw material requirements.
