Attendees will hear about Plastics recycling in Hong Kong and Logistics challenges Europe/USA to Asia
The plenary meeting of the BIR Plastics Committee at 10.30 on Wednesday, 24 May 2017 will receive first-hand information on plastics recycling in Hong Kong with the presentation of Nigel Mattravers, Director & General Manager of ALBA Integrated Waste Solutions (Hong Kong) Limited (China), which has been awarded the contract by the Hong Kong Government to develop the first integrated WEEE management service in Hong Kong. Mr Mattravers has particular expertise in the waste and resource management sector and has been responsible for studies, design, finance, project management of numerous resource management schemes in Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.
Mr Mattravers is the Immediate Past Chairman of the influential Resource Management Panel of the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and was also a Director of the sustainability think tank London Remade as well as a co-opted expert to the Commission for Sustainable London 2012.
The title of his presentation is: "Challenges and Opportunities in Plastics Recycling Business in Hong Kong"
A joint presentation will then be given by representatives of Kerry Logistics, Hong Kong, on “Challenges across Inbound Logistics ex Europe / USA to Asia".
Deepak Saxena, Executive Director – Global Ocean IIF, looks back at over 20 years in the field of sales, product development and management roles within top tier global organizations such as FSL, Hellmann Worldwide, Agility Logistics & SEKO logistics. His current key responsibility areas include Global Ocean Product Strategy, design and execution for KLN Group. Mr Saxena also overseas Global Trade Lane Development of the organization which is encompassing commercial activities within strategic KLN countries and Operational Excellence portfolio for rich in house and customer experiences.
Anthony Ip, who is in charge of Global Ocean Operations and Products, has 15 years’ experience in sales, operations, product development and management. Mr Ip started his career in Maersk Logistics (Damco) and has become head of ocean product in Hong Kong. He is currently responsible for setting up strategies, building up new ocean products and delivering operation excellence.
