Important News on China (AQSIQ): AQSIQ envisages abolishing exclusiveness of pre-shipment inspection agents in the framework of revised notice 119;  Reminder: AQSIQ Renewal Application for licences expiring end of 2016

BIR has been informed that AQSIQ intends to abolish the exclusiveness of pre-shipment inspection agents, as stated in an official announcement made by AQSIQ on 17 August 2016. In the framework of a revision of Notice 119 “Measures for the supervision and administration of the inspection and quarantine of the import of solid waste that can be used as raw materials”, AQSIQ will not anymore assign pre-shipment inspection agents for solid waste imported and used as raw materials. Until revised Notice 119 comes into force, all pre-shipment inspections will continue to be conducted by the originally assigned inspection agents.

BIR will keep you informed on any further developments.

Also, we urge our members to check if your AQSIQ licence expires on 31 December 2016. If this is the case, you must apply for renewal before 30 September 2016.

Please follow the instructions posted on the BIR website, Members Only – Legislation – China (the 2013 procedure still applies).
