News of the first list of companies allowed to import waste & scrap into China

Please find HERE the first list of companies located in China that may import certain wastes and scrap. The list gives the company name in China, the HS Codes of wastes and scrap that are allowed for import, and the limit on the amount that may be imported in tonnes, as well as the designated Port of Entry. Note the Chinese text is the official text, the translation is provided to assist readers.

On pre-shipment inspection:
AQSIQ, The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, will accredit third-party inspection companies that comply to set criteria to carry out pre-shipment inspections and issue CCIC Certificates against a fee.

As CCIC offices will continue to operate, scrap exporting companies will have to determine the different costs and benefits of which Pre-Shipment Inspection supplier to choose when AQSIQ publishes its list of authorised third-party Pre-Shipment Inspection survey companies.

Shipments to China will commonly be subject to two inspections: Pre-Shipment Inspection (by CCIC or AQSIQ authorised third-party survey company); and likely check at the designated Port of Entry in China by Chinese authorities.
