Workshop on Arbitration, Monday, 25th October 2010, 15.00 hrs, Sheraton Hotel & Tower, Rooms Permeke + Rembrandt

Dear BIR Member,

We would like to invite your to a highly interesting Workshop on Arbitration, which will be organised by the BIR International Trade Coundil in the framework of our upcoming World Recycling Convention (Autumn Round-Table Sessions) in Brussels on 25 and 26 October 2010 (full convention details available on convention.bir.org).

Arbitration is becoming more and more important in our daily trade as a method of settling disputes without recourse to the law, which is both expensive and time-consuming.

BIR sees it as a vital service to members and the industry as a whole to offer a modern and effective Arbitration Service that can assist in a fast and cost-effective settlement of claims and disputes between members and potentially non members.

It is planned that many contracts should include a clause calling for any arbitration to be under the auspices of BIR in the future.by the experts of our trade.

To launch the revised and updated BIR Arbitration Service, the International Trade Council is organising a special workshop - presented by legal experts and advisors from the law firm Bird & Bird at the Brussels Convention at 15.00 on Monday 25th October.

Bird & Bird is an international commercial law firm with offices in Beijing, Bratislava, Brussels, Budapest, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, The Hague, Helsinki, Hong Kong, London, Lyon, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rome, Shanghai, Singapore, Stockholm, Warsaw and close ties with firms in other key centres in Europe, Asia and the United States.

All BIR delegates attending this convention are cordially invited to this important event and any input into the formation of this new service would be very welcome.

We look forward to welcoming you there.
